Breastfeeding a Dinosaur

Here's a conversation from today that I never imagined (well... before I had kids I couldn't imagine it) I'd have with my 2 yr old SON:

Me: "I don't want to breastfeed your dinosaur."
Cohen: "Why?"
Me: (getting frusterated because my girls are soooo sensitive right now) "BECAUSE! He'll bite my boo boos off! You don't want that, do you?!"
Cohen: "No..." (now looking really sad)
Me: "Honey, you can give him YOUR boo boos if you want. He'd like that."
Cohen: "Otay" (so he sits down on the floor of my bathroom and proceeds to nurse his dinosaur)

What's funny, is that this type of conversation doesn't suprise me at ALL anymore.

Ahhhh, motherhood :)

Deployment Countdown Craft

Conner and Cohen have had a bit of a rough time with Daddy gone, and they ask me constantly how long until he comes home. Last time he was gone for only a couple weeks and we had a calendar that we made X's on for every day he was gone, leading up until the homecoming. This time is a bit longer, so we decided to make a countdown craft. We could have done the typical paper chain style, but decided to come up with something a little more original and fun!

Inspired by this submarine craft, this is what we came up with:

The concept is that there is a fishie or an octopus for every day that Daddy will be gone. Conner decided that each morning one fish will swim up to live under the top submarine. When all the sea creatures have surfaced like the top submarine, its time for Daddy to come home! (**note, I took these pics with only a few of the fishies we actually have to put up. I can't show you all exactly how many days until Daddy gets home, due to military security regulations. Just imagine LOTS more fishies up there LOL.)

I suppose I could have cleaned the sliding glass door before taking these photos, but I'm just keepin' it real, yo.

Conner was feeling sick when I took pictures, so he wasn't in the mood to pose, but he's sitting here now and wants me to clarify that Cohen's submarine is the blue one, and his is the black one on top (because Daddy's submarine is black!)

I leave you with Cohen's now famous wink/smile. What a weirdo :)

Did Ya Miss me?

Hey hey, its been awhie, eh?!

Last I posted the announcement of our impending Cletus the Fetus... and now look - I'm huge!

30 weeks along now (about 2.5 months left)! PS its ANOTHER smelly BOY! :)

SOOOO much has taken place since my last post, but I'm just going to start off where we are now.
Let's see... the man is gone. He went out on an EastPac with his sub a few weeks ago. I'm hanging on here, holding down the fort with 3 little kids (we have my nephew temporarily for those who don't know). Here's the last image I have of my hunka-hunka-burnin' love... bright and early one morning as we left him at the pier:

We went and watched the boat leave from Ford Island which was pretty cool because we could drive all the way down to the water and got pretty close to the boat.

Bye, Daddy! We love you!!
